Welcome on the website of the fiscal study association FIRST Maastricht. This English part of the website is dedicated to non Dutch (potential) members, mainly international tax students.
FIRST Maastricht looks after the interests of the fiscal student in Maastricht and we can mean a lot for the fiscal student during and after his or her study. We bring students from fiscal law and economics in contact with one another and we bring students in contact with potential employers. We do that via certain events that we organize, such as a business day, a symposium and inhousedays. A lot of these activities are in Dutch.
What we offer international members, is the possibility to visit our monthly drink to meet fellow students with free drinks and snacks at Café Lure. At the drink in October we usually have a sponsor that hands out Tax Law Treaty bundles for free. Next to that, especially interesting for international tax law students, they can join us on the Luxembourg Trip every fall were we meet international employers. Furthermore, many of our sponsors offer national activity’s where you are also welcome of course, such as a sailing activity or a BBQ on the beach! When you are a member, you will be updated via the e-mail and by regularly checking our website.
Next to that, we offer you our magazine the FIRM that appears four times a year that has a couple of English articles each edition. The academic year 2010 – 2011 was a special year for the Study association, given the fact that we celebrated our 20th anniversary in May 2011.
